Build a Strong Neck for Wrestling!
Most wrestlers are familiar with the Front Bridge and Back Bridge exercises. They are usually taught within the first practice or two of a wrestler’s career.
If you ever have a Neck injury or want to really really train the neck to get stronger you need more than just a Back Bridge…
Check out this exercise that allows you to train your neck to get stronger and thicker without the injury potential that you face with the regular Back Bridge exercise:

That is a very practical and effective neck exercise. Whats great is that you can add resistance as needed as you get progressively stronger. In this respect, I like this exercise better than neck bridges simply because you can get very strong without jeopardizing the Atlanto-Occipital joint or cause any undue compression on any of the cervical vertebrae.
You are very limited as to how much weight you can use in strengthening your neck with neck bridges. In fact, it can become extremely dangerous as you become stronger.
I wonder if you could possibly do a modified version for the front region of the neck in order to keep neck strength balanced for the front as well as for the back of the neck. Hmmmmm, food for thought?
Thank you for sharing that exercise with us!

I tried it and I think it’s a lil bit not very comfortable to do this exercise.
Thanks anyways, you’re doing a good job by helping people

I really like this exercise, in fact it’s one I used to do in high school and had forgot about till I saw your video. Thanks for reminding me.
There are some other neck exercises that can be done to balance out the neck.
Again when I was training in school we had a “head harness” that had straps and a hook on the end and would be attached to a weight machine. With this apparatice you can work the neck muscles in any direction.
I really don’t like to neck bridges without taking some of the pressure off using my hands. For me they are just for loosening or warming up my neck muscles.
